Saperavi

Saperavi is a native of the republic of Georgia where it is the dominant red variety producing wines of incredible colour and concentrated flavour that live for many years.

On his first visit to Georgia, Robin Day was given a wine of his birth year that was still fresh and vibrant with the structural elements to live for many more years.

It is no accident that Georgia with over 500 native varieties and a 6,000 year history of evolution of the vine and its wine, has singled out Saperavi to be its main red grape variety.

The natural characteristics of the variety have impressed Robin Day in a similar manner.
